The Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) is part of one of Europe's leading research universities and is internationally recognised for its expertise in agriculture, plant and environmental sciences.
Through interdisciplinary research, the Faculty contributes to advancing sustainable food production, climate resilience and natural resource management, developing innovative solutions that support resilient farming systems and environmentally sustainable agriculture.
UCPH leads the development of the project's Harmonised Farm-Level Metrics for MRV, establishing consistent methods for collecting, managing and comparing farm-level greenhouse gas data across the TRACER pilot sites.
The University also leads the development of the project's online data platform, providing a collaborative hub for harmonised farm-level data, benchmark datasets and MRV resources. The platform will support data sharing, model calibration and validation, and improve the transparency and interoperability of MRV practices across Europe.
In addition, UCPH leads the Danish pilot, which focuses on carbon-neutral agroforestry and conservation agriculture within mixed arable-tree farming systems. The pilot will test and calibrate the TRACER MRV System by evaluating greenhouse gas emissions from agroforestry, no-till farming and clover–ryegrass rotations, supporting the validation of sustainable farming practices that reduce nitrous oxide (N₂O) and ammonia (NH₃) emissions.
