TRACER aims to develop and validate a harmonised, near-real-time Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) system that combines Earth Observation, field sensors, farm data and advanced modelling to accurately monitor agricultural greenhouse gas emissions.

The project will deliver reliable, traceable information to support farmers, policymakers and carbon certification schemes across Europe.

Pilot Regions

TRACER will test and calibrate the MRV System across 10 pilot regions representing diverse farming systems and five pedo-climatic zones. Together, the pilots will generate the scientific evidence needed to validate the system under real-world agricultural conditions before demonstrating it in five Living Labs across Europe.
